The Australian Sustainable Energy team consists of like-minded individuals who strive every day to make real changes in the lives of people in all walks of life, at the same time creating a sustainable environment for our generation, and those to come. Our in-house experience in delivering renewable energy projects throughout Australia, exceeds 150 years.
Hugely aware of the world first opportunities which exist in the Australian renewable energy field, the team aims to be at the forefront of delivering the best possible solutions, no matter what energy provision challenges exist.
Jason Pyne
Founder and Managing Director
Renowned leader in renewable energy development with 24 years’ specialist industry experience, Jason is the founder and Managing Director of Australian Sustainable Energy and Portagrid.
Having spent over a decade working in the remote, often harsh environments of Australia, Jason’s experiences have inspired him to develop award winning solutions to facilitate access to energy supplies, regardless of location.
In 2003, Jason was among the first people to qualify as a Clean Energy Council (CEC) Accredited Designer and Installer of standalone power systems. In 2017, he won the Tropical North Queensland Innovation Award (TNQiA) for Portagrid, a modular, transportable renewable energy generation and storage system.
As Managing Director, Jason works with his team to deliver his vision for the growth and continual improvement of Australian Sustainable Energy.
Melissa Pyne
Head of Planning and Shared Services
Melissa is a skilled facilities and project manager who following a successful long term career at Ergon Energy, primarily in contracts and renewable energy, joined her brother Jason as an integral part of the Australian Sustainable Energy team.
Currently, Melissa oversees the Shared Services needs of the company. An effective multitasker, Melissa is respected for her ability to deliver projects on time, whilst ensuring the company’s standards continue to excel.
Peter Dawson
Head of Project Delivery
Peter joined Australian Sustainable Energy with over 25 years’ in the Electrical and Renewable energy sector, and is responsible for delivering our projects on time and to a high standard. Peter’s attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced, complex environment is what cements him as being an industry leader in Project Delivery.
As one of the pioneers in the Renewable Energy Industry, having had a 23-year career in local utility, where he played a major role in the development and subsequent successful delivery of many large scale renewable energy projects. Peter’s vast knowledge and experience of Residential Grid Connect systems, Hybrid and Off-Grid systems as well as Power Station project development, design and implementation, ensures that ASE is capable of delivering a quality outcome for our customers.
Responsible for delivering projects on time to a high standard, Peter’s attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced, complex environment is what cements him as being an industry leader in Project Delivery.
Andrew Haddow
National Business Development Manager
Andrew started his career working with some of Australia’s largest Multinational Companies however in 2008, he started his renewable energy career. Andrew implemented and grew Ergon Energy’s Solarplus residential Solar program Queensland wide. In 2010, he moved onto one of Australia largest Solar Companies and ran the regional operations. The business grew to be the most profitable and largest turnover within the National Group in 12 months.
From 2012, Andrew shifted his focus to the commercial solar SME market and began delivering many iconic solar projects across the region. As of 2016 Andrew moved on to another National Commercial Solar Company and in from 2017 began working with Australian Sustainable Energy as the Far North Qld Sales Manager.
